Prominent Grammarian of Bangla Academy Dr.Muhammad Shahidullah make a Bengali calendar Renovation committee in 1963. Later the committee known as “Shahidullah Committee”.Besides other recommendations the committee recommend to make 14 April as the Pohela Boishak.Later In light of the recommendations of another committee named ”Bangla Borshoponji songosker committee” Bangla academy in 12 September made 14 April as the Pohela Boishak. In 1954 A.K FazlulHaque announced the holiday in Pohela Boishka.Which was the first announcement of holiday for pohela Boishak.The cultural program in Romna Botomul was organized in 1968.

Boishakhi Mela: Boishakhi Mela is fully non-sectarian and Universal festival of Pohela Boishak.The length of this mela is generally one to three days.
